After Asslessman's Willy and Crooksie's Guntsplitter, I figured it was time to share my Hyu-Jigo with you all.
Just to remind you of the premise for this tag along, pick a muscle-bound, barely clad, large weapon-wielding loon a inspired by the subtleties of GW's new Gorechosen game.
My lead pile was somewhat sparse of suitable figures, so I delved into my bits box and created the sort of muscle-bound meat head who's clearly been forgetting leg day!
Hyu-Jigo the Pin Rat is renowned in the fighting pits for his over-large blade and over large arms. After a neat decapitation, the slick blood-drenched fighter loves nothing more than flexing triceps, kissing his biceps and showing off his heavily sculpted back. But in the locker room there are sniggers and cruel taunts. For all the superb musculature on his top half, Hyu-Jigo tends to skip leg days. And it shows!
Hyu-Jigo was made from a Chaos Centaur torso, mated with the lower half of a Norse warrior. There were some minor repairs, but then it was just a case of painting the resulting figure.
I went for a pretty unusual skin tone on Hyu-Jigo - using GW's Rakarth Flesh with blue washes. Some tan coloured leather, black strapping and metal completed the paint job. Oh, and BLOOD!!!
Who gets to do the next one? I'm tagging Mr Saturday. Over to you my son!
Great entry Jon, I like how the subdued colours still complete each other. The flowers on teh base also offer a fun counterpoint to the single minded character. That's a great bucnh we have now.
ReplyDeleteThe basing is so he fits with my Pan Tangian warband - I'm minded to include him as a barbarian (when he's not doing lots of blood-drenched pit fighting of course)!
DeletePossibly the "brains" of this project I expect, he looks more cerebral than most Gorechosen... not that there is much competition.
ReplyDeleteNice work. I like his grey skin tone. WHat made you decided to go with that Axiom? It looks nice.
Brains in so far as he things about which limb to hack off? ;)
DeleteI just fancied doing something different for the skin. Not really sure why, but it made a nice change.
Funnily enough, that's 2 guys with blue skin out of 3 so far. ^^
DeleteChaotic types have a range of skin colours - the dark gods are the ultimate in equal-opportunity employers. In fact if you have boring skin they will gladly change it for you. "Little extra pustules there fella? Little more green? Here ya go."
ReplyDeleteSlaanesh Eye for the Nurgle Guy.
DeleteI've always fancied doing a completely naked model with the chaos mutation 'brightly patterned skin' and going wild on it. Grey skin is fine also though ;)
DeleteThat's a tasty conversion, and the skin is strangely realistic looking considering the colour. He looks mean.
ReplyDeleteI'll take that tag Jon, I'm just waiting on more blood infused body oil to arrive for my own entry.
"More" body oil? How much have you used already??
DeleteGotta get it in all the crevices. Take a lot.
DeleteExcellent conversion and love the fluff...LOL
ReplyDeleteYou're too kind! But there's no fluff at all - it's all waxed off so he can be buffed and oiled to a beautiful shine ;)
DeleteLOL
DeleteNice addition to the arena, Axiom. You do subdued colour so well.
ReplyDeleteLove the 'skips leg days' bit. Classic fun-fluff.
Cheers buddy! Looking forward to seeing your own frothing loon :)
DeleteExcellent! And I got a good laugh out of the "leg day" story.
